Calling All Fairy Godmothers: Strappy Sandals, Glitzy Stilettos and Satin Peeptoes Needed!

A charity very near and dear to my heart is The Corsage Project. With the generous support of corporate donors, countless volunteers and The Children’s Aid Foundation, we are able to help young women unable to afford the expense of prom celebrate the milestone of graduation in style.
Over the past 11 years, The Corsage Project has outfitted more than  2,000 young women, putting them on equal footing with their peers, and offering them a day to feel pampered and beautiful while they choose a prom dress and accessories for free.
This year we are looking for your help collecting donations of new formal shoes. Securing an adequate number of new formal shoes has always been difficult, so this year we are issuing a challenge to women across Toronto – help us collect 500 pairs of formal shoes before April 10. New shoe donations can be dropped off at the Children’s Aid Foundation at 25 Spadina Road, Toronto. This will help ensure that every Corsage Girl can put together the perfect outfit.

Did you know?

* The average cost of attending a high school prom is more than $500!

* Hundreds of young women across Toronto won’t attend their graduation formal this year because they simply can’t afford to.

*These students often balance school and part-time jobs to help make ends meet.  For them, attending prom is out of the question.
*The Corsage Project was started in 1999 because we believe that no one should be denied the opportunity to celebrate the important milestone of high school graduation.
